Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash With a Motorcyclist in Oakland

Fatal crash on Interstate 980 in Oakland killed a motorcyclist on Sunday, September 11th.

California Highway Patrol reported that a biker, Steven Lee of Antioch, crashed near the 27th Street exit. CHP and paramedics found the motorcyclist on the right side of the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The hit-and-run crash caused by a white Kia Sorento according to witnesses and evidence at the scene. The SUV has damage to the right front side area.


California Highway Patrol officers are looking for the driver of a white 2016 Kia Sorento suspected of being involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash with a motorcyclist Sunday in Oakland.


It is not clear how the collision occured and CHP asked anyone who sees a vehicle matching the description to call (510) 450-3821 or (707) 551-4100. When calling note the time, location and license plate of the suspected SUV.
