Kogi BBQ Food Trucks have been a part of Sherman Oaks and Los Angeles since Chef Roy started driving 2008. When we are lucky enough to catch the truck, everybody at Drake Law Firms loves to chow down on some of their famous, Korean BBQ tacos.
The food truck became famous in late 2008 after serving Korean barbeque tacos — their short rib tacos were an immediate hit. According to the Kogi BBQ website, this taco holds double-caramelized Korean barbecue, salsa roja, cilantro-onion-lime relish and a Napa Romaine slaw tossed in a chili-soy vinaigrette on two grilled corn tortillas.
Since then, the menu has expanded. In addition to having special tacos and burritos, the menu has Kogi dogs and sliders, burgers, and desserts. Everything on the menu is unique and delicious.
Chef Roy’s Kogi BBQ has turned a one-truck-that-could story into a BBQ empire. Within the past couple years the business grew; a total of five trucks now deliver street food across the Los Angeles, and two restaurants have opened.
Roja is the original truck that still ventures through the San Fernando area. On some weeknights, you can catch Roja parked at Ventura Road and Calhoun serving their tacos to the neighborhood.
Time Magazine, LA Times, LA Weekly, The Hollywood Reporter, and more have praised Kogi BBQ for its food. It has given the food truck industry a higher standard; nobody can keep up with Kogi BBQ.
At Drake Law Firm, we can’t wait to stop by the truck in Sherman Oaks again. To see where one of the Kogi BBQ food trucks will stop next, visit their Twitter webpage.
