Fatal Crash Shuts Down Southbound Highway 99

February 23rd, 2021

SOUTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A fatal crash shut down all southbound lanes of Highway 99 at Mack Road Tuesday night.

The California Highway Patrol says two vehicles hit a pedestrian in the fast lane on southbound Highway 99. Traffic was diverted at Mack Road as crews respond to the scene.

It’s unclear why the pedestrian was on the highway.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, CHP said.
