Authorities said a woman was driving a Ford going north at an unknown speed with a male passenger. The car drifted into the southbound lane and into the path of a vehicle towing a two-axle flatbed trailer loaded with fertilizer.

Police say a Chevy Camaro was heading south on M Street when a Nissan Altima pulled out from Buena Vista -- directly in the path of the Camaro.

The crash happened on Jackson Road, which is just west of Excelsior Road, around 5:45 p.m., the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said on social media.

The pickup was driven by Sonora resident Sebastian Ruiz, 20, who had four passengers. Ruiz suffered major injuries and was pinned in the truck.

One officer sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center in stable condition, the statement said.

The man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. Paramedics took the passenger to a hospital with injuries not believed life-threatening. The passenger’s age and gender were not available.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred a little before 6:45 p.m. on 170th Street East and Longmeadow Avenue in the Lake Los Angeles area.

LeBron Godoy says he was riding his bike in the 1200 block of Rindge Lane Saturday night when the driver of a white pickup truck suddenly crashed into him.

A Dos Palos man suspected of driving intoxicated has been arrested after a fiery crash killed his two passengers north of Dos Palos on Wednesday, according to authorities.

29-year-old Monique Contreraz was pushing a shopping cart and walking her dog on a leash at the intersection at Herndon and Milburn when she was hit by 38-year-old Shawn Ginder's pickup truck, police said.

One person from the red car had to be airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries.Others from both vehicles were rushed to the hospital via ambulance. All are expected to survive.
