SMART Train Collides With Vehicle In Rohnert Park

February 4th, 2022

ROHNERT PARK (BCN) — The driver of a vehicle struck by a Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit commuter train in Rohnert Park Friday afternoon did not stop at the train crossing, according to police.

The collision occurred on Golf Course Drive at about 4:15 p.m. Rohnert Park police officers responded to the scene and found the vehicle’s driver uninjured. The vehicle suffered major damage from the impact of the SMART train and the roadway needed to be shut down for several hours while the vehicle and the debris could be removed.

The driver was evaluated by responding paramedics and released from the scene.
